It’s the witching hour…
Just to confirm that my photos seem to lend themselves to the dark side I use some images from one of my favourite shoots of the year….

Last spring, Will and Alys – who are friends approached me having seen this photo blog and the kind of work I do and asked if I’d be interested in doing the photos for their wedding which took place a few weeks ago. I pointed out that I wasn’t at that point a wedding photographer as such. They already knew. Will has been to plenty of weddings in his time and cannot stand being made to wait while “photographers spend ages taking photos that once seen will never be looked at again”. So I was asked and they hoped I’d bring something of my work experience elsewhere to the table. And some speed. And a spot of irreverence….

So if you have a wedding, or civil partnership planned drop me a line.
I had been waiting since the Spring for a few summer days with clear blue skies. Did they happen? Well there was one day in June but the model cancelled at the last minute due to a heavy night clubbing. Then it was endless gloom as July and August …and September passed with very few clear sunny days. Then extraordinarily in late September the weather forecasters let on that we were due for a short warm spell and I hit the phone. Which models would be available at short notice? I spent several days traipsing down to the coast – three guys and one girly took part and over the next few weeks as the weather gets colder I will post them in memory of a brief but very pleasing warm spell…

Anyone who knows me well will know that I don’t enthuse about something for the sake of it. So when I describe the Wig Party as an amazing event it is a rarity. The Wig Party took place on Saturday and people from all walks of life are invited as long as the dress code is applied. I was working with a few photographers capturing the party. The setting at One Mayfair was absolutely sensational, and the effort the guys behind the event put into it was terrific. To add to the atmosphere the music was brilliant- and well done to everyone who threw themselves into character- this year’s theme was Gods and Monsters. My wig was a cursory purple Edna Everage (so ‘monster’ then!) type affair. Next year who knows…
If you missed it then make sure you’re there next year…
